Resumo:
RESUMO: O Objetivo deste estudo é caracterizar e observar os principais desafios da nutrição no tratamento da síndrome metabólica no idoso. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, oriunda das palavras chaves: “ Síndrome Metabólica”, “ Idosos”, “ obesidade” e “ terapia nutricional”. Resultados: Ao analisar uma abordagem debatida de forma ampla, pode-se observar que fatores como o meio no qual o idoso esteja inserido, a apresentação de doenças crônicas não transmissíveis que o idoso já possui, e que fazem parte dos critérios diagnósticos, suas medidas antropométricas, sua relação com a prática de atividade física e até mesmo as condições de assistência a saúde que lhes são oferecidas, estão diretamente ligadas ao surgimento dos diagnósticos que confirmam a presença de síndrome metabólica. Conclusão: Através da presente revisão, pode-se concluir que a terapia nutricional no tratamento da SM é de grande importância para o bem estar e saúde do idoso. ABSTRACT: The Aim of this study is to characterize and observe the main challenges of nutrition in the treatment of metabolic syndrome in the elderly. Methods: This is an integrative review, derived from the key words: “ Metabolic Syndrome”, “ Elderly”, “ obesity” and “ nutritional therapy”. Results: By analyzing a broadly debated approach, it can be seen that factors such as the environment in which the elderly person is inserted, the presentation of chronic non-communicable diseases that the elderly person already has, and which are part of the diagnostic criteria, their anthropometric measurements, their relationship with the practice of physical activity and even the health care conditions offered to them, are directly linked to the emergence of diagnoses that confirm the presence of metabolic syndrome. Conclusion: Through this review, it can be concluded that nutritional therapy in the treatment of MS is of great importance for the well-being and health of the elderly.
